The Opportunity

Our maintenance organization for Surge Arresters and Capacitors is growing, and we are looking to strengthen our team with a shift mechanic.

At Surge Arresters in Ludvika, we produce and sell surge protectors. New products are developed here, and the markets are both in Sweden and other parts of the world. A surge protector protects against overvoltages and is an essential part of a reliable and energy-efficient power system. At Capacitors, we assemble custom medium and high-voltage capacitors for reactive power compensation and harmonic filtering, as well as manufacture DC capacitors for HVDC applications worldwide.

Both operations have a high degree of automation with multiple robots, winding machines, electrical testing, process furnaces, fixtures, etc., and we produce around the clock in several sections of the production.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Maintain and repair the organization's machines and equipment.
  • Continuously monitor improvements in the manufacturing process and implement short-term and long-term plans while actively participating in investment projects.
  • Work collaboratively with production and external suppliers.
  • Actively work with technical documentation and database-based maintenance systems. Participate in initiatives to maintain and improve the reliability and efficiency of equipment.
  • You share Hitachi Energy’s core values regarding safety and integrity, which means you take responsibility for your own actions while also feeling accountable for your colleagues and the business.

Your Background

  • You are a driven and solution-oriented mechanic with practical experience in the maintenance field. Relevant education is considered an advantage.
  • You should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • You can work shifts.
  • We see that you enjoy working both independently and in a team, and you have a positive attitude towards the tasks you undertake.
  • You will work according to high-quality standards, so it is important that you are quality-conscious, safety-conscious, and responsible.
  • You should also be communicative in both Swedish and English, with the ability to share your knowledge with the rest of the organization.

As a person, we see that you are flexible and attentive. To succeed in the job, you need to be results-oriented and thrive in a production environment.
